Depending on how old you are, you may or may not recall the
1971 song, “Signs,” which was recorded by The Five Man Electrical Band. Suffice
to say that the signs to which they referred, including “Long-haired freaky
people need not apply” and “Everybody welcome. Come in, kneel down and pray,”
were traditional in nature: square-sized figures that featured handwritten or
printed copy.
